Awesomenss Lacking...sorry all
Oh guys...I don't know if anyone even reads this, but if you do, then I'm really sorry that I skipped last week...it's kind of crazy, all I want to do is move out of the house and it's just not happening...I don't get it! Anyway, in between my feeble attempts at getting alife, here's what I've caught over the last several days...
Awesomeness in Movies: Meaning that if you're not reading this, you should be watching what I tell you...
Best Movie that...
Was Just/Will be Released: Ok, for this week I'm going to go with B-squared...in case you're wondering, that's Babel and Bobby two, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Oscar contenders. Babel is Brad Pitt's new film, with Cate Blanchett (aka the new Meryl Streep) and Gael Garcia Bernal (meeeeooowwww!!!..yes I love him). I won't be surprised if Borat still takes #1 but I think that Babel would definitely be worth checking out. As a side note, I did see Borat with a sold out theater audience in Boston and it's AMAZING...ridiculously amazing...and I wish I had a bear. Also out this week (11/17) I believe is Bobby, directed by Emilio Estevez and starring everyone in Hollywood who wasn't in Babel or invited to theTomKat wedding. It should be pretty intense though, or maybe that's just me....I'm also going to add For Your Consideration it's from the people who brought you Best in Show, This is Spinal Tap, and A Mighty Wind, need I say more?! I can't believe that I almost forgot to mention "Casino Royale" I have to say I was more than skeptical about Daniel Craig...but whoa boy! I think he might...might be better than Pierce Brosnan...not as good as Sean and Roger tho! I'll debate you on that...
Best DVD that was just released: I'm going with Da Vinci Code...I know I'm totally sad, but it's actually a pretty intriguing film...justwatch...don't judge..Also out and next on my list to rent is Wordplay a documentary about crossword puzzles...and just in case you almost shorted your brain reading this, just think Jon Stewart is in it, so it will at least be mildly entertaining.
Best DVD that ISN'T out yet: Little Miss Sunshine... I keep thinking of the best movies I've seen this year, and this one still tops the list. It's just amazing and simple and beautiful and such a slice of life..I LOOOVE it. I'm not sure on the release date, I would guessDec./Jan. it's still playing in second-run...you know those theaters that you know you're going to so you think..hmmm maybe I won't take my nice purse, I'll just take a canvas tote.
Best Trailer/Movie I'll Probably Definitely End up Seeing: I was scrolling through my on-demand features the other day and nothing was really doing it for me, so I thought...gee, I can waste an hour watching movie trailers before I go to bed and that's exactly what I did and in the midst of that I saw Catch and Release. I haven't done all of my homework on it, so I'm not sure if it's a new Kevin Smith movie, or if he's just in it...I'm going with the former or the latter, whichever one means it's a Kevin Smith movie. Anyway, it's Jennifer Garner and Timothy Olyphant and it looks pretty ok, maybe not as good as Jay and Silent Bob: Strike Back...but probably better than Jersey Girl.
T.V. Awesomeness (Meaning what you're not watching right now, but should definitely TIVO at some point)
T.V. Show of the week: It's my new obsession... The Office on NBC Thurs. nights. I don't know why it took me so long and I'm so sorry I haven't mentioned it before, but it's genius writing and acting. I've been renting Season Two (on DVD now) so religiously that the guy at Blockbuster was like "You really need an online account..how's the apartment in the city?" and I was like "I know I need an online account, but I'm waiting until I move since the apartment fell through and now we're looking in Boston" and he said " I went to school in Boston" and I said "oh..cool...uhm that's definitely the second disc right...I'm returning the first one " and he said "yeah...$8.46" and I said "I definitely need an online account". So yeah, watch "TheOffice" I promise, you will never be disappointed! and P.S. John Krasinski is my celebrity crush of the week/ my life...he's awesome
T.V. show you think you don't want to watch, but will anyway this week: Madonna's Confessions' Tour special or Tony Bennett: An American Classic...I guess this is what happens when there are no more Dancing Stars...
Speaking of which, Emmitt Smith won beating out Mario"my partner is bitchier than yours" Lopez. It was kinda crazy, but you can never underestimate the power of a genuine smile..don't forget that Mario!
Best T.V. show that you forgot about: Undressed hands down...don't lie to yourselves when you were anywhere between the ages of 16 and20, this was the coolest show to be watching and as close to soft-core as networks would allow...
Finally....I can't believe how time flies by...Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will tie the unidentified flying object knot in mere hours.Hey remember the movie The Stepford Wives ...not that it has anything to do with this topic (wink, wink)? Just a thought to perk up your day...If you're Oprah, you don't actually have to go, just send a couch.
